About the Author
Dr. Dale Umetsu has spent more than three decades in academic medicine. Before joining Harvard Medical School as a professor of pediatrics, he held a tenured position as a professor of pediatrics at Stanford University. In 2013, he became the principal medical director and global development lead at Genentech, where he explored how Xolair could be used to treat severe milk and peanut allergy in children. Currently, he works as a consultant for several companies, including Pareto Bio, IgGenix, and AllAdapt Immunotherapeutics. He also serves as a clinical professor of medicine at Stanford and a clinical professor of pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco.
